Allan Manzi is a film maker based in Washington DC, he loves telling empowering stories and having a visual presentation of his stories.
From childhood, Allan Manzi wanted to be a TV presenter, but film stumbled into him when he joined Maisha Film Lab in 2011 and got interested in what they were doing and finally put TV aside. He believes that film making allows one to get to the deepest, happiest moments of the audience and also get to inspire them.
His journey in film making started with attending workshops organized by Maisha Film Lab which nurtured him into doing a short film called Sheila Exprada where he met future collaborators that helped him grow in his career till now.
His biggest achievement ever since he started doing film, is his ability to grow as a film maker. As of the challenges, the high cost of making a single movie and earning peanut profits due to low appreciation of the local content. Therefore to overcome such challenges the industry needs to get organised and the film makers settle petty difference focus on the major point.
Allan advices other film makers to be their own ambassadors and be excited with what they do.
